Changing the manners of our profession
| I started this marine canvas business near Baltimore because I'm an
avid boater and I want to offer what I want as a boater - a
responsive, reliable service person who returned calls and showed up when
scheduled. I want to offer courteous service. I want people to
see me as helping them enjoy boating more. I thought it was time to change the manners
of the marine canvas business in Baltimore. My years of experience
in other service related businesses, as a worker and a manager, prepared
me for this business. I chose the business name to honor my father, Admiral John William Kime, a former Commandant of the United States Coast Guard. Admiral Thad Allen, Commandant of the Coast Guard at the time of my dad's death said, "In the wake of the Exxon Valdez oil spill, Adm. Kime pioneered how the Coast Guard now prevents and responds to oil and hazardous chemical spills, significantly minimizing the environmental damage caused by such spills. His legacy can be seen today in how the Coast Guard responds to a broad range of threats and hazards to our maritime, homeland, and national security interests." I keep my boat at Anchor Bay East Marina. Anchor Bay East has a great reputation for providing good quality work on time to boaters in the greater Baltimore area. Many of the boats from Baltimore's Inner Harbor winter with Anchor Bay East in Dundalk. Anchor Bay East was kind enough to rent space to me for my new shop. I service boats throughout the upper and middle Chesapeake Bay area, including Baltimore, Middle River, Rock Hall, Annapolis, Kent Island, and Sassafras River. You can bring your boat to Anchor Bay East on Bear Creek at the Key Bridge, or I'll come to you. Although the business name says marina canvas, my work includes canvas enclosures, curtains, upholstery, carpeting, and interior boat decorating. My wife, Joan, does the interior decoration. So, why should you do business with me? If you place a value on your satisfaction with my work and are looking for someone who honors his commitments to you, call me, Ed Kime, marine canvas guy in the Baltimore, upper Chesapeake Bay, and middle Chesapeake Bay areas. I hope to change your opinion of marine canvas guys, or at least this one. |
